China's smart manufacturing standards released

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Guideline for the Construction of National Intelligent Manufacturing Standard System (2015 Edition)" (Draft for Comment).

Top-level design helps the industry to interconnect and interoperate, and intelligent manufacturing value will be accelerated. Smart manufacturing is a national strategy, and standardization of the implementation process is a priority. The construction of China's intelligent manufacturing standards system is similar to that of the German Industry 4.0. The first eight priority actions in Germany's implementation of the Industry 4.0 strategic proposal is standardization. In December 2013, the "Industry 4.0 Standard Roadmap for Germany" was issued. The formulation of standards reflects the technological foundation and the industrial foundation, and it is an essential work for the intelligent manufacturing of international discourse rights. The implementation of smart manufacturing in China has certain specificities. The hindrance lies in the on-site equipment standards that vary: Germany, Japan, homeland and other countries. Intelligent manufacturing is a process of networking first, and the equipment in the field is connected through the industrial Ethernet network. Because the standards are different, this networking process will encounter great problems in China. Therefore, the implementation of standardization will clear the obstacles and accelerate the development of the industry. Standardization is the key to achieving full-scale integration. The standard system guide covers a total of 1,000 standards in seven areas, including general, smart equipment and products, industrial Internet, industrial cloud and big data, smart factory/digital shop, and service-oriented manufacturing.

China's industry is at a critical stage of transformation from big to strong, transformation and upgrading. The current status of automation in various industries and regions varies, presenting a pattern of coexistence of traditional industries, 2.0, and 3.0. For a long period of time in the future, China's manufacturing industry will face a parallel development situation. During this period, it will go through four phases: 1. Single machine automation and interconnection of equipment; 2. Digitalization of factories through data recording and collection devices such as sensing and radio frequency. , 3. System integration in three dimensions, 4. Finally, the realization of Industry 4.0.

At the beginning of the development of Industry 4.0, the first thing that companies need to do is the intelligent transformation of factories. The intelligent transformation of factories is equivalent to the construction of infrastructure, just as the construction of railways and highways is the basis for future intelligent production. Therefore, at this stage, we are optimistic about the implementation of intelligent factories to implement transformation.
