This is the main reason why the old industrial bases in the northeast use the power of the Yangtze River Delta to “go to the seaâ€. Changchun City welcomes private entrepreneurs at home and abroad who have settled in the Yangtze River Delta to participate in the acquisition of old state-owned enterprises. In accordance with national laws and policies, the government departments will give certain preferential treatment. I wish the industry to state that the national strategy of “revitalizing the old industrial base in Northeast China†is the best opportunity for the development of the three provinces in the Northeast. Since last year, there have been a steady stream of foreign investors visiting Changchun to discuss major projects. Up to now, 34 of the world's top 500 companies have landed in Changchun, including retail giant Wal-Mart. It is reported that there are 15 projects signed by Changchun City and the Yangtze River Delta today, covering the fields of attracting and reorganizing state-owned enterprises, supporting production of auto parts, deep processing of agricultural and sideline products, and real estate opening, including seven contracted investment projects, totaling 430 million yuan. Eight agreement investment projects amounted to 710 million yuan. Among them, only the Changchun Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee and Shanghai COSCO Software Industry Co., Ltd. jointly established a "software research and development base in Jilin Province," a total investment of 200 million yuan. According to the relevant northeast old industrial base revitalization plan, the development of Changchun City in the next seven years will mainly focus on the four major industries of automobiles, agricultural products processing, optoelectronic information, and biomedicine. The relevant person expects that the rich land resources, human resources and relatively abundant coal and electricity resources in northeast China will form a “good interaction†with the development in the Yangtze River Delta region.
The strategy of “revitalizing the old industrial base in the northeast†that the Chinese government is advancing vigorously has taken another substantial step in Shanghai today. Changchun City, Jilin Province, which has the reputation of being a veteran “automobile city†in China, has signed RMB 1.14 billion in investment contracts and agreements in Shanghai and Yangtze River Delta cities.
