Generally, when measuring the magnetic field strength of the magnetic separator, the Gauss meter is used for measurement. The Gauss meter has high measurement accuracy and wide application range. Before using the Gauss meter to measure, the cylinder (and the magnetic system) are first supported, and the height is convenient. The measurement is suitable. At this time, magnetic lines vertically downwards, but can not see the pole, fixed measuring point allowed, iron powder can be sprinkle in the outer cylinder, the edge of the pole to attract more iron in the outer cylinder, the shape of the magnetic poles can be displayed. If there is no iron powder, you can also use iron nails to find the point. The nail can stand upright on the cylinder surface, that is, the center of the magnetic pole (or the center of the pole gap). After finding the exact position, mark it with chalk or a brush and measure it point by point.

Measurement methods:

In order to make the position of the measuring point accurate, the measuring point sample (using plexiglass plate or wooden board) should be made according to the shape of the magnetic pole before the measurement. Draw the position of each measuring point on the sample board and drill holes at the measuring point position to prepare the probe for penetration into the hole for measurement. The measurement content generally includes: the magnetic field strength of each section of the magnetic system at different positions, the magnetic field strength of each key point on the surface of the magnetic pole to be measured on each section, and the magnetic field strength of a spatial point at a certain distance from the magnetic pole.

Specific steps are as follows:

(1) Select three sections along the axial direction of the cylinder: one of them is selected in the middle, and the other two sections are taken at 200 mm from both ends.

(2) The magnetic field strength of several key points on the surface of the cylinder should be measured on each section. Generally, there are 3 points in the edge and the middle of each pole (2 points of the magnetic system edge), and 1 point in the middle of the pole gap. When the number of poles is n, the number of points is N=[3n-2+(n-1)]=4n-3. For example, the 3-pole magnetic system is 9 points, and the 4-pole magnetic system is 13 points.

(3) The average value of the magnetic field strength at each point measured on the surface of the cylinder represents the magnetic field strength of the cylinder surface. Similarly, the average value of the magnetic field strength at each point from a certain height of the cylinder surface represents the magnetic field strength of the curved surface.

(4) Measure 3 to 5 points from the cylinder surface at each key point on each section. Such as 10mm, 20mm, 30mm, 40mm, 50mm from the cylinder surface.

Determining the magnetic field strength of the magnetic separator is the key to selecting which type of magnetic separator for mineral selection. It plays an important role in the upgrading of the concentrate quality of the slurry material. Therefore, it is not admissible to choose the most suitable magnetic separator for material sorting. .
