West-East Gas Pipeline Project, Jianyi Road, all the way to protect 700 million yuan to prevent soil erosion

The National Soil and Water Conservation Work Conference convened in Yinchuan, Ningxia, recently sent a message that a total of nearly 3,900 kilometers of the West-East Gas Pipeline project has invested more than 700 million yuan in water and soil conservation, effectively controlling the soil erosion caused by the project construction.

Since the construction of West-East Gas Pipeline Co., Ltd., it has sought to build a green pipeline that “maximally prevents soil erosion, protects the ecological environment along the line, and achieves harmony between the pipeline project and ecological environment and social environment along the line.” The project has completed investment in soil and water conservation. Ten thousand yuan. The special water and soil conservation facilities completed a total of more than 1 million cubic meters of excavation, filling and overburdening of earth and stone, implemented 1111.6 hectares of plant measures, and restored 5483 hectares of cultivated land.

On October 3, 1998, the former State Planning Commission approved the report on the pre-feasibility study for the construction of the West-East Gas Pipeline Project by China National Petroleum Corporation. On July 4, 2002, the newly established West-East Gas Pipeline Company officially commenced the construction of the West-East Gas Pipeline Project, and on December 30, 2004, it realized commercial operations across the board. The West-East Gas Pipeline Project starts from Lunnan Town in Luntai County, Xinjiang, and Baihe Town in the western suburb of Shanghai in the east. It passes through 9 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities including Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, and Shanghai. It has a total length of nearly 3,900 km. East has passed through six different types of soil erosion areas. The terrain along the line is complex, with many ecological types and sensitive environments. In particular, there are many types of soil erosion and it is difficult to control.
