• The base or platform for mounting the electric motor and pump should be rigid enough to minimize vibrations.
• A flexible coupling is recommended to connect the prime mover and pump shafts. Avoid tire-type couplings. Ensure that the shafts are aligned within the TIR tolerance of 0.05mm. If you're unsure about the alignment, contact us for guidance.
• Proper alignment is crucial because misalignment can cause serious issues such as shaft breakage, bearing wear, oil leakage, noise, and vibration.
• Avoid applying external radial or thrust loads on the shaft ends. Consult us if using belt, chain, or gear couplings.
• Inlet suction pressure (gauge pressure): For mineral oil fluids, it should be between +35 to -16.7 kPa, while for water glycol and phosphate ester fluids, it should be between +35 to -10.1 kPa.
• Keep the suction pipe flow rate between 0.5 and 1.5 m/s.
• Use a 150µm filtration tank filter (suction filter). For better protection, use a full flow filter with 25 µm or smaller, or a bypass filter with 10 µm or smaller.
• When installing an immersion type tank filter, position it about 50–70 mm above the tank bottom to prevent contamination. If the oil level fluctuates greatly, ensure the filter is designed to avoid air intake.
• Suction and return piping:
- Determine the correct suction pressure and reduce resistance as much as possible.
- Minimize bends when using large diameter piping.
- Position the pump's suction port less than 1 meter from the oil reference level.
- Ensure the end of the suction pipe is more than 50 mm from the tank bottom.
- Seal all joints properly to prevent air intake, which can lead to noise, vibration, and damage.
- Always keep the return pipe end below the oil level, regardless of fluctuations.
- Install baffle plates between the suction and return pipes.
- Use flexible rubber hoses instead of steel piping for suction and delivery to help dampen vibrations and reduce noise levels.
Air Bleed
• During initial system startup or after long storage, the pump may have trouble drawing fluid. To bleed air from the system, install an air bleed valve (ABT-03) or loosen a fitting in the delivery pipe.
• Run the pump at no load during the air bleed process to ensure proper operation and prevent damage.
Yuken Type Hydraulic Oil Vane Pump
Seric offers the most comprehensive range of hydraulic pumps and motors for both mobile and industrial applications. One of its key features is the replaceable cartridge, which simplifies maintenance and can typically be replaced in under ten minutes without removing the pump from its mounting. This design allows a small inventory of cartridges to support multiple pump models across various vehicles.
