Elastomeric tube swaging is a widely used method in the commercial and military aircraft industries for creating tubing assemblies that handle hydraulic, fuel, oxygen, and other fluid systems. This technique is now being applied to both low and high-pressure systems made from materials such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel alloys, and titanium. The process allows for the creation of leak-proof connections without compromising the strength of the material, unlike thermal joining methods like welding or brazing.
In addition to aerospace applications, our internal elastomeric swage machines and tooling are now being introduced to various other industries, including marine engines, automotive, trucks, refrigeration, air conditioning, motorcycles, motor homes, construction equipment, and tractors. This cold-forming process uses extremely high radial forces to push the tubing into grooves on an external fitting or into a shaped die cavity to create specific end forms, such as beads.
The swaging force is generated by a high-strength drawbolt that compresses an elastomeric expander against a static retainer ring. During the swaging cycle, controlled compression of the elastomer pushes the tube wall radially into the internal grooves of the fitting, forming a strong, secure mechanical connection. A precision-matched split die cavity holds the fitting in place during the process, ensuring no distortion occurs.
Elastomeric swaging is not only fast and efficient but also eliminates the need for costly post-processing steps like radiographic or ultrasonic inspections, which are often required for welded or brazed joints. It offers a reliable alternative to traditional methods while maintaining structural integrity and performance.
We manufacture all forming dies and swage tooling for our elastomeric tube swagers. Pricing is determined based on customer requirements and order quantity. Each machine is built to meet applicable safety standards and can be customized for electrical compatibility. Every purchase includes an operation and safety training package, along with a six-month warranty on all parts and workmanship.
The internal elastomeric swage fittings were specifically designed for use in the demanding aerospace environment. They provide a lightweight and cost-effective solution compared to welding, brazing, or other mechanical attachment methods.
**Advantages of Internal Swaging:**
- No special tube end preparation (no cleaning or sizing needed)
- Fast fabrication—typically seconds per connection
- No X-ray inspection required
- No flushing or ball-check test needed
- Reduces scrap rate
- Improved fatigue resistance compared to brazed joints
- No heat-affected zones or distortion
- No need for stress-relieving after installation
These benefits lead to significant cost savings in installation and maintenance. Eaton's internal swage fittings are compatible with CAD/CAM systems, making them ideal for modern tube assembly production. The mechanical attachment at room temperature is especially beneficial in environments where flammability is a concern.
**Fitting Features:**
- Made from high-strength alloys (e.g., 15-5 CRES, 7075 Aluminum, 6AL-4V Titanium)
- Flared fitting with a machined metal sealing surface to prevent tube flare cracking
- 2-angle face design for line-contact sealing, allowing up to 4° angular misalignment
- Available in various flareless styles compatible with current flareless systems
- Lipseal fittings offer excellent sealing through a flexible beam surface and maximum interface clearance
- Sizes available from 1/4" (6.35 mm) to 1-1/2" (38 mm)
**Internal Swaging Technique**
Before swaging, with drawbolt / expander assembly inserted
After swaging, with tube formed into fitting grooves

The KOCKS roll is a type of roll used in the steel industry for shaping and forming hot metal into various shapes and sizes. Each stands have three same roller called three-dimensional roll. PSM rolling line is one kind of KOCKS mill line embodiment form.
The KOCKS and PSM line are design to mache the high size tolerancce and surface quality for spercial steel rod and wire.
