Citizen Seiki developed a large-diameter re-cut CNC automatic lathe
Citizen Machinery, based in Miyota-cho, Nagano Prefecture, is set to launch its new product, the "A32-VII" small CNC automatic lathe from the Cincom series, on April 25, 2008. This model represents a significant advancement over the previous A20 series, particularly in terms of spindle table design and overall rigidity, allowing for maximum machining diameters up to 32mm. The A32-VII is available in both standard and non-guided versions, with options for right or left spindles. The standard price is 97.44 million yen (including tax), making it an attractive option for precision machining applications.
To enhance structural rigidity, the linear guide configuration has been optimized, reducing moment loads and improving stability during heavy-duty cutting. The machine bed features a tubular structure combined with internal ribs, ensuring consistent and uniform cutting performance even under demanding conditions. Additionally, the front and rear spindles are reinforced with a robust support system that enhances torque performance and increases the thickness of the main shaft, further boosting durability and accuracy.
The improved mechanical rigidity allows for more aggressive cutting parameters, including deep cuts, high-speed feeds, and rapid spindle rotation. The X1 axis can move at a fast feed rate of 32 meters per minute, while the other axes operate at 45 meters per minute. The main spindle rotates at speeds ranging from 200 to 8,000 rpm on both the front and rear sides, offering flexibility for various machining tasks. The machine also supports 23 tool stations, increasing productivity and reducing setup time.
Thanks to its high-speed capability, even short-distance movements do not compromise efficiency, resulting in reduced machining cycles and increased throughput. This makes the A32-VII ideal for high-volume production environments where speed and precision are critical.
The company will showcase the A32-VII at the "Japan Electromechanical Technology Exhibition 2007," held from October 17 to 20, 2007, at Nagoya Port Messe. This exhibition provides an excellent opportunity for industry professionals to see the machine in action and experience its advanced features firsthand. With its innovative design and enhanced performance, the A32-VII is poised to become a key player in the CNC machining market.
