Feng Fei, Minister of Industry and Economic Research of the Development Center of the State Council pointed out in a speech that the competitiveness of commercial vehicles in China is reflected in three aspects.
Unlike passenger vehicles, which are dominated by joint venture brands, China’s auto industry started from commercial vehicles. After decades of development, China’s commercial vehicle market has become the world’s largest market last year, and its growth rate has exceeded. Passenger cars are basically occupied by local brands. China’s cost advantage is leading the world, and therefore it is extremely competitive in overseas markets.
The competitiveness is reflected in three aspects
Feng Fei, Minister of Industry and Economic Research of the Development Center of the State Council, explained in detail three aspects:
The first is the export competitiveness of commercial vehicles. In 2007, the export of trucks in China reached 254,000 vehicles, an increase of 50% year-on-year, and 85,000 passenger cars were exported, a year-on-year increase of 20%. Of the 600,000 cars exported last year, commercial vehicles accounted for a large proportion. However, in the export of bicycles, especially for trucks, the number of trucks under 5 tons is 190,000, and the level of products is low. In other words, we must pay attention to the export competitiveness of China's commercial vehicles. Although the speed of development is fast, the low price and product level are also worthy of attention.
The second is the competitiveness of the commercial vehicle industry. First, the competitiveness of the industrial environment, including the automotive industry supporting areas, such as local industrial development ideas, whether the supporting enterprises are complete, whether the scale is large, how the relationship between zero and so on, including domestic demand potential, industry status, government support and so on. The second is the competitiveness of industrial organizations, including scale, concentration, and productivity. Third, the competitiveness of industrial innovation, such as R & D investment, R & D personnel and the number of patents.
The third is the international competitiveness of commercial vehicles, including the share of the automotive industry in the entire international market, and the proportion of exports in the international market.
The price is also an important competitiveness
In addition to the above aspects, Feng Fei believes that there are some indicators to measure product competitiveness, such as cost or price, as well as product applicability. The current status quo is that there is a large proportion of 5 tons of download trucks exported, with about 190,000 vehicles. The main feature of this type of vehicle is not its technical content, but not how beautiful the appearance is, and more importantly, the product's suitability. For example, whether it applies to the local economic development level, whether it applies to local logistics development needs.
