New domestic smoke machine passed the expert appraisal in Han
Led by China Tobacco Machinery Group Co., Ltd., along with the China National Tobacco Machinery Technology Center, Changde Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd., a team of industry leaders has successfully developed domestic high-speed coiling and packaging units. These advanced systems were recently officially recognized by a panel of experts.
The coiling unit is capable of producing 10,000 cigarettes per minute, translating to over 160 cigarettes per second on average. Meanwhile, the packaging unit can complete the packaging of 550 cigarette packs per minute. These achievements represent the highest level of domestic tobacco machinery technology in China.
Experts have highlighted that the successful development of these units marks a significant milestone in the evolution of technical equipment within the tobacco industry. It not only fills a critical domestic gap but also offers a new and viable option for the main models of technical upgrades in cigarette processing enterprises during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period.
From research and development to official certification, the project spanned four years. In 2002, the State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau acquired coiling unit technology from abroad. The R&D team completed the design conversion in January 2004. Through independent innovation, they addressed a series of technical challenges beyond the scope of the original technology transfer, ensuring the systems met the specific needs of tobacco industry enterprises.
In 2005, the two new machines were tested for one year at Wuyan. The technicians there provided valuable data and improvement suggestions, which played a crucial role in refining the products and boosting overall production efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the industry. After equipping itself with the most advanced production equipment in China, Wuyan significantly enhanced its competitive edge.
