The automobile industry has emerged as a dilemma in the differentiation of passenger cars and commercial vehicles

After patiently waiting for two weeks, Miss Wang from Wuchang finally drove her brand-new Peugeot 206 home yesterday. She couldn’t help but feel excited and proud as she took the wheel of her new car. "It would have been even better if I could have gotten it sooner," she said with a smile. Right now, purchasing a Peugeot 206 in Jiangcheng requires customers to place an order in advance. The model has become extremely popular, and its success has significantly contributed to the company’s growth. In the first two months of this year, Shenlong produced 23,967 units, marking a 69.6% increase compared to the same period last year. Sales reached 27,172 units, up by 38.4% year-on-year. These numbers have brought substantial profits. The company reported a profit turnaround, with a year-on-year increase of 176 million yuan. Shenlong's performance is a bright spot in the province’s automotive sector. Wu Xinmin, head of the Economic Operation Department at the Provincial Economic Commission, noted that the industry has been operating smoothly despite challenges such as national macroeconomic regulation, rising energy prices, overcapacity, and intense market competition. According to statistics, the province produced 38,600 passenger vehicles between January and February, a 48% increase compared to the same period last year. Even more encouragingly, the auto industry turned profitable after a year of negative profit growth. It achieved a profit of 369 million yuan in the first two months, a 38.9% year-on-year increase. Experts from the Provincial Machinery and Automotive Industry Investment Promotion Center believe that the rise in profits is mainly due to strategic adjustments by manufacturers. Through improved management, optimized product structures, and the introduction of new models, companies have boosted their profitability. This shift has helped the industry move into a positive growth phase. In contrast, the commercial vehicle sector has seen a sharp decline. Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company in Shiyan produced 13,922 units in the first two months of the year, down 45.6% year-on-year. Sales also dropped to 11,011 units, a decrease of 38.6% compared to the previous year. Trucks have long been a key part of the province’s automotive industry, holding the top market share nationally. However, with expected slower GDP and investment growth this year, along with rising fuel prices, transportation costs are increasing, leading to reduced demand for trucks. Additionally, the expansion of domestic truck production capacity—especially heavy-duty vehicles—has led to overcapacity and fierce competition in the market. Wu Xinmin pointed out that the sharp drop in commercial vehicle sales has caused the province’s automotive industry growth rate to fall below the national average for the first time in recent years. As the automobile industry is a major pillar of the provincial economy, maintaining a steady growth rate is crucial to achieving the full-year industrial growth target. Currently, local manufacturers are accelerating industrial restructuring. Shenlong and Dongfeng Honda continue to launch new models. Shenlong’s “Triumph” and Dongfeng Honda’s “Civic” will be introduced at the end of April, while the T21 model is expected to launch by the end of the year. Meanwhile, Dongfeng has accelerated the technological upgrades of medium and heavy-duty vehicles. With the country designating the auto industry as one of the overcapacity sectors and market competition intensifying, the sector faces numerous challenges. Wu Xinmin emphasized the need to quickly implement supportive policies and provide strong coordination and service to promote sustainable development. He also called for reversing the rapid decline in the commercial vehicle market and accelerating the growth of the auto parts industry.

MITSUBISHI VVT SOLENOID

Variable valve timing (VVT) solenoid or oil control valve controls the oil flow according to the engine speed and load. VVT solenoid is a vital part of the variable valve timing system.
The Oil Control Valve (OCV) is a a critical part used in every engine that is fitted with variable valve technology (VVT). A single control valve will regulate the supply of oil to a designated VVT hub, to advance or retard the timing by altering the camshaft angle position. Controlled by the ECU, the OCV receives electrical signals, instructing it to adjust the oil flow as required, in accordance to current driving conditions.
