China's first ultra-deep well oil rig was successfully developed in Shaanxi
China's first 9000-meter AC variable-frequency ultra-deep well drilling rig has been successfully developed by Shaanxi Baoji Petroleum Machinery Co., Ltd. and passed expert evaluation on the 9th. This breakthrough marks a significant milestone, as it breaks the long-standing foreign monopoly in the field of ultra-deep oil rigs, showcasing China's growing technological independence in the energy sector.
To meet the rising demand for deep oil and gas resources, and to enhance the design and manufacturing standards of domestic drilling equipment, Baoji Petroleum Machinery Co., Ltd. initiated the research project for a 9000-meter drilling rig in September 2001. The project was later included in the National "Tenth Five-Year Plan" as a key technical equipment development initiative. Following the official approval, the company swiftly launched the development process, eventually leading to the successful creation of the advanced drilling rig.
The 9000-meter rig features cutting-edge technology and superior performance. It utilizes the latest all-digital AC frequency conversion control system, enabling intelligent operation.
