Iveco 6 Cursor 11 Engine Exposure

Recently, Iveco's new Euro 6 engine was exposed at the headquarters of the Turin Expo Center. So far, Iveco has not yet officially released this new engine, the new machine was temporarily named Cursor 11 by the industry.

What is currently known is that the Cursor 11 engine will use the SCR system to meet the stringent European emissions standards. The new machine has a displacement of 11.1 liters and the bore and stroke are 128 x 144 millimeters respectively. The fuel injection system uses common rail injection. It is reported that Cursor 11 will use the VGT (Variable geometry turbocharger) technology that the current Cursor series prides itself on. Translation into Chinese is a variable area turbocharger system.

The biggest highlight of the VGT technology is that its supercharger can change the cross-sectional area, which is equivalent to changing the size of the turbocharged turbine. When the speed is low, the turbocharger will use a smaller cross-sectional area, even if the speed is very low, the turbine can be started smoothly, which greatly eases the turbo lag. At high speeds, the turbocharger will use a larger cross-sectional area, which can greatly increase the boost value, thereby increasing the maximum power and torque of the engine.

Although not yet officially released, well-informed insiders have revealed the data of the engine. The Cursor 11 has engine output power from 309 to 353 kW (420 to 480 hp) and a maximum torque of 1900 to 2250 Nm.

Combined with the new Iveco Stralis spy photos exposed some time ago, you can imagine this Cursor 11 engine will become the new car's main power, but after all, this 11-liter engine horsepower segment has not yet broken through the 500-horsepower mark, so you can guess is Iveco will also develop a larger displacement engine assembly flagship model, as to what the new engine highlights, we will wait and see.

Rail Buffer

A buffer is a part of the buffers-and-chain coupling system used on the railway systems of many countries, among them most of those in Europe, for attaching railway vehicles to one another.
Fitted at the ends of the vehicle frames, one at each corner, the buffers are projecting, shock-absorbing pads which, when vehicles are coupled, are brought into contact with those on the next vehicle. The draw chain used between each pair of vehicles includes a screw which is tightened after coupling to shorten the chain and keep the buffers pressed together. Such is known as a 'screw coupling'.
