New bushing valve anti-theft device access to applications

At the recent meeting held at the Hu 5-124 well site of the Central China Oil Plant, the second team led by Chang Chih-jun introduced an innovative casing valve anti-theft device. This new solution involves using a short section of pipe combined with a protective tube, effectively preventing theft and significantly reducing losses. Due to the proximity of metering stations to nearby villages, casing valves have become prime targets for thieves. Although workers previously used welding torches to secure the valves, unscrupulous individuals often found ways to bypass these measures. They would either forcibly remove the clamps or cut the casing using a short-section method, resulting in up to five stolen valves per week. To address this issue, the team conducted extensive research and multiple experiments before developing a cost-effective and efficient solution. The new device consists of a four-way short section combined with a protective tube. Even if criminals attempt to cut the 159 mm short section, they cannot saw through the welded wire rope, making theft nearly impossible. The device is simple to install, requires minimal investment, and costs only about 20 yuan per well on average. Considering that each casing valve is worth around 410 yuan, the annual economic loss saved by this system exceeds 60,000 yuan. So far, the device has been tested in over 20 wells, and there have been no reports of casing valve thefts. This innovation not only helps combat illegal activities but also ensures the smooth operation of oil production.
