Terex wins 5 crane gantry crane orders
It is reported that Terex Port Solutions has undertaken two Terex ship-to-shore cranes (STS) and three Terex tire-type gantry cranes (RTG) orders for a subsidiary of Iraq International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI). Orders include integrated services, and Terex Port Solutions and one of the world's leading port operators, Iraq International Container Terminal Services, are continuing to write a new chapter in their successful partnership history.
Previously, Terex Port Solutions has provided 24 tire-type gantry cranes for Iraqi International Container Terminal Services to operate three different terminals in Madagascar, the Philippines and Brazil.
It is understood that these new cranes will be supplied to the Basra Gateway terminal at the Umm Qasr port and will be delivered to Iraqi International Container Terminal Services in the second quarter of 2016 for commercial operation. As the only deep-water port in Iraq, this coastal port is the main transshipment point for Iraqi trade.
Two all-electric eco-friendly ship-to-shore cranes will mainly be used to load and unload container ships for feeder ships. They will use a single-box structure of a self-propelled aerial trolley with a lifting capacity of up to 41 tons.
The design of the Terex ship-to-shore crane is 42 meters. The lifting height is 32 meters above the pier and 18 meters below the pier.
Three Terex tire-type gantry cranes will be used in container yards. They will provide a maximum lifting capacity of 41 tons under the hanging box, which can stack 1+5 standard containers with a lifting height of 18.1 meters. With a stretch width of 23.5 meters, these cranes can lift six rows of containers and one lane of road and dock trucks.
