According to the latest “Ten Measures to Promote Stable Growth of Foreign Trade” issued by Tianjin, the Tianjin Municipal Commission of Commerce, Binhai New Area People’s Government and Binhai New Area Related Functional Area Management Committee will jointly arrange 100 million yuan of special funds to support the parallel import of automobiles. Actively explore the parallel export of automobiles and other services.

The so-called "parallel import of cars" generally refers to cars imported from abroad from other importers other than the general distributor, and "parallel" with domestic authorized distribution channels, such cars generally have lower market prices. Parallel import of cars is conducive to breaking the monopoly of the industry and allowing consumers to feel the real benefits.

At the end of May this year, the “China (Tianjin) Pilot Free Trade Zone Pilot Implementation Plan for Parallel Imported Vehicles” was issued. The pilot targets were divided into two modes: pilot platform and pilot enterprise according to the size of the main body and the mode of operation. One of the obligations of the pilot platform is to develop qualified member companies that import and sell automobiles. The pilot enterprises themselves are the main body of parallel sales of automobile sales.

According to information from the Tianjin Free Trade Zone, dozens of companies have applied to become parallel import vehicle pilot enterprises or pilot platforms.

The relevant person in charge of the Tianjin Free Trade Zone said that the application materials have been reviewed in accordance with the implementation plan and are awaiting approval from the relevant departments.
