The 8th China International Chemicals Exhibition kicked off on April 19 at the Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center, marking another milestone in the country's chemical industry. This year’s event was more impressive than ever, with nearly 800 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions showcasing tens of thousands of products and cutting-edge technologies across a total area of 23,000 square meters—setting a new record for the exhibition.
Gu Xiulian, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, sent a congratulatory letter, highlighting that after 16 years of growth, the China International Chemical Industry Exhibition has become the most authoritative and influential event in the country’s petrochemical sector. She expressed her hope that the exhibition will continue to grow, becoming a truly global platform that enhances international cooperation and drives the industry forward.
Li Yongwu, president of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, emphasized that the exhibition aims to meet market demands, support companies’ development, and promote the industry as a whole. He stressed the importance of professional focus, effective trade negotiations, and showcasing the highest standards of the industry.
According to the organizers, the exhibition featured a significant increase in foreign participation, with many multinational corporations making their presence felt. Private enterprises also saw a sharp rise in participation, while specialized companies in areas such as drying equipment, phosphorus chemicals, and fluorine chemicals expanded their booths. Major state-owned enterprises like PetroChina, Sinopec, and Sinochem remained key players, reinforcing their roles as industry leaders.
Visitors flocked to the event, with over 6,258 attendees on the first day—an increase of 25% compared to the previous edition. The exhibition concluded on April 20, leaving participants and exhibitors optimistic about the future of the chemical industry in China and beyond.
