From the Bensenville Professional Firefighters Association, Local 2968 Facebook page: Last week, one firefighter was left alone to protect the town of Bensenville for about 20 minutes while the rest of the crew was responding to multiple emergency calls. Out of the 8 firefighters on duty, 7 were needed elsewhere. If this had happened last year, with a full staff of 11, only 7 would have been out at the same time. That means instead of having 4 firefighters available, we were down to just one — which is a dangerous and unacceptable situation. If another call had come in during that time, neighboring towns would have had to send help into Bensenville, which would have delayed response times for ambulances or fire trucks. Fortunately, no additional emergencies occurred during that critical window. But this is exactly the kind of scenario we're trying to avoid by increasing our staffing levels. Some people have misinterpreted our message, thinking that passing the referendum will completely eliminate these risks. Unfortunately, no amount of staffing can fully prevent fires or save every life in every situation. However, more firefighters mean fewer risks and better protection for our community. Last year, we had 11 firefighters on duty. Now, with current staffing, we only have 8. If the referendum fails, we could drop to just 5 per shift — a number that puts everyone in danger. This isn't just about numbers. It's about keeping our residents safe. When you dial 911, you deserve a quick and effective response. That’s why we’re asking you to vote yes on the referendum so we can restore our staffing to a maximum of 11 firefighters per day. #helpbfpd2 Bensenville Professional Firefighters Association, Local 2968 photo Car Rooftop Tent,Car Top Tent,Rooftop Tent Hard Shell,Aluminum Rooftop Tent,Rooftop Tent for Car Shaoxing Haoto Trading Co.,Ltd , https://www.hotooutdoor.com
