Fatal Industrial fire in Lemont, 4-25-23

Photos from the explosion and fire at the Seneca Petroleum plant in Lemont on April 25, 2023.
The incident reportedly involved an explosion in an asphalt tank at the facility. According to abc7chicago.com, one person was killed and another injured during the fire. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Dru A. Worker from Homewood, was a contractor with M&J Industrial Services. The injured individual was taken to Silver Cross Hospital.
Authorities confirmed that both the deceased and the injured were working on-site with the same company. The fire was eventually contained after several hours, and officials stated that no hazardous materials were released, posing no risk to the public. OSHA and ComEd were also among the agencies that responded to the scene.
