As seen around … The Chicago Auto Show

From the Chicago Police Department Facebook page:

Today, Chicago police officers, alongside Chief of Patrol Fred Waller and Deputy Chief of Community Policing Dwayne Betts, revealed the next generation of CPD patrol vehicles. This is the first major design update in decades, created by Officer Jennifer Jacobucci and chosen by a panel of officers and community members. The new look features the classic blue and white color scheme, along with the department’s tagline: “We Serve & Protect.”

In addition to the fresh design, the vehicles come equipped with mobile computers that allow officers to access real-time data while on duty. They also include enhanced lighting systems to improve visibility and increase police presence. Some units, like the one unveiled today, are fitted with license plate reader technology—seen in the photos—which helps officers locate stolen vehicles more quickly and accurately than ever before.

The new patrol cars will be deployed later this year, but you can already see them at the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place through February 18. If you're interested in joining the force, stop by the CPD booth to sign up for the May 2018 police exam or visit www.BetheChangeCPD.com to learn more. Keep checking back for more updates on these exciting new vehicles!
