Karl Klotz captured a **Still and Box Alarm** this morning at 1315 S. Wabash in a commercial building. The incident involved a fire at the Gastro Smokehouse Restaurant, and Karl shared some compelling photos of the scene.
The first image shows thick smoke pouring from the front windows of the restaurant, highlighting the intensity of the blaze. Firefighters quickly responded, using hand lines and an interior attack to bring the fire under control.
In another photo, Squad 1’s Snorkel unit is seen parked near the scene, ready for action. The fire was contained without major spread, thanks to the swift response.
Tower Ladder 5 was also on standby in Sector 1, prepared to handle any potential extension to upper floors. This proactive approach helped ensure the safety of the surrounding area.
