Historic Photo Addition for Sauk Village Fire Department The website currently features 128 fire departments, including the Chicago Fire Department. Most of these departments are represented with current station photos and images of every vehicle assigned to each station. From the beginning, the contributors have aimed to add historical photos to each department’s page, providing a more complete visual record of their evolution over time. We officially launched this effort today with the addition of a historic gallery dedicated to the Sauk Village Fire Department (MABAS Division 27). This gallery includes 18 images provided by Bill Friedrich, showcasing the department's vehicles from as far back as 1969. The photos reveal that the department's color scheme has changed over the years—from red, to white, and now black over red. Bill is planning to scan more slides and negatives to expand the collection and add galleries for other departments in the future. Sauk Village used to run this 1979 Dodge/Palomar Type II ambulance.
