Injection Machine Screw And Barrel The Injection Machine Screw and Barrel are essential components of the injection molding machine. The screw, often referred to as the auger, is a rotating element that functions to transport, plasticize, and compress the material (typically plastic) before injecting it into the mold. The barrel, on the other hand, is a static tube that houses the screw and serves as the chamber where the Plastic Material is heated and melted before being propelled forward by the screw. House fire in Wheeling, 2-3-20 (more)
I just got back from capturing some images at a house fire that broke out in Wheeling on February 3rd. The scene was intense, and there's so much to take in. Here’s what I saw and shot while documenting the aftermath and the efforts to control the situation.
The first image shows the devastating aftermath of the fire. You can see the damage done to the structure, and it's clear how quickly the flames spread. This photo was taken by Larry Shapiro, who was on the scene to capture these moments.
In another shot, you’ll notice a Ferrara Inferno tower ladder in action. It’s a striking image that highlights the equipment used by firefighters to tackle large-scale fires. Larry Shapiro once again captured this powerful moment.
There’s also an image showing firefighters washing down hotspots to ensure the fire doesn’t reignite. It’s a crucial step in the firefighting process, and you can feel the intensity of their work in this photograph. Larry Shapiro’s eye for detail really shines here.
Another dramatic shot features a firefighter fully geared up in his PPE. It’s a reminder of the danger and preparation required when facing such emergencies. The focus on the individual firefighter adds a human element to the chaos of the fire.
One of my favorite shots is of the Prospect Heights FPD firefighters working together. It’s a testament to their teamwork and dedication, even in the face of adversity. Larry Shapiro managed to capture their spirit and determination perfectly.
There’s also a photo of firefighters draining the hose after the fire. It’s a quieter moment compared to the earlier scenes but equally important in understanding the entire firefighting process. Larry Shapiro’s composition makes this image both calming and reflective.
A Rosenbauer Commander Cobra tower ladder is visible in one of the photos, showcasing another piece of vital firefighting machinery. The way the light hits the ladder creates a dynamic effect, making it stand out in the image.
Lastly, there’s a shot of a Spartan fire engine connected to a hydrant. It’s a practical yet essential part of firefighting operations, and Larry Shapiro’s ability to highlight these details is impressive.
These images tell a story of resilience and teamwork. They capture not only the destruction caused by the fire but also the heroic efforts of those who worked tirelessly to bring it under control. It’s humbling to witness such dedication firsthand.
