Working fire in Chicago, 10-11-16
I just got some details from Josh Boyajian about an incident earlier today. He mentioned that Engine 44 was first on the scene, and they found heavy smoke billowing from a two-story warehouse located at 3352 West Grand Avenue. The building measures around 500 feet by 300 feet, and it happened late Tuesday afternoon.
When Engine 44 arrived, they quickly deployed two fire hoses to tackle several rubbish piles inside the structure. Tower Ladder 14 and Truck 35 were also on the scene in no time, with their main water supplies already operational. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all units, the firefighters managed to bring the fire under control within just ten minutes.
Here are some photos taken by Josh Boyajian that capture the action. You can see Tower Ladder 14 in one image, with its impressive reach clearly visible as it assists in the operation. Another shot shows Engine 44 hard at work, highlighting the team's dedication and efficiency. There are also images featuring Truck 35, which played a crucial role in managing the situation.
In addition to these action shots, there are several photos that focus on the firefighters themselves. They're seen either taking a breather or checking equipment after the intense firefighting effort. These moments really highlight the physical toll such situations take but also the camaraderie among the crew.
It’s always inspiring to witness how quickly and effectively emergency responders spring into action when called upon. This incident is a testament to their training and teamwork. I’ll keep you updated if more information becomes available.
