Dive box in Wauconda, 4-19-19

This is from Tyler Tobolt: --- Hi everyone, I just got word that the Wauconda Fire Department requested a dive box alarm for a potential rescue operation at Bangs Lake. Unfortunately, after about two hours into the incident, it transitioned into a recovery effort. Here are some pictures I took from the scene. --- Excerpts from ABC7Chicago.com: Late Friday evening, rescuers were searching for a 9-year-old boy in Bangs Lake near Wauconda. The Wauconda Police Department received a call around 7:20 PM regarding a water rescue. Two boys, aged 10 and 9, were out on the lake in a paddleboat when they fell into the water and started calling for help. Fortunately, nearby anglers managed to pull the 10-year-old to safety before emergency services arrived. As of 9:45 PM, rescuers were still actively searching for the younger boy. High winds and rough waters had carried him further out toward the center of the lake. Fire officials reported that 15 divers and a team of sonar technicians from Wauconda and surrounding fire departments were continuing their efforts throughout the night. The 10-year-old boy who was rescued earlier was reported to be in stable condition with no serious injuries. However, the search for the missing boy was expected to continue until well past midnight due to the challenging conditions. --- [Attached are several photos taken by Tyler Tobolt showing the scene and the ongoing rescue efforts.] --- Stay safe, everyone. This situation is a stark reminder of how quickly things can change on the water.
