Still & Box Alarm fire in Chicago, 4/15/15
This report comes directly from Dennis McGuire, Jr., who captured these images early Saturday morning. He arrived at the scene around 6 a.m. and noted that Engine Company 115 was the first unit to respond. Upon arrival, they discovered significant smoke inside an unoccupied, single-story grocery store measuring approximately 150 feet by 100 feet. The fire was initially located in the loading dock area but had not yet affected the building's structure.
The situation was quickly under control thanks to the swift action of the firefighters. Thankfully, there was no extensive damage or spread of the fire beyond the immediate loading dock area. For those interested in more visuals, I’ve included a link to Dennis’s website where you can view additional photos: [http://312firephotos.smugmug.com/Chicago-Fire-Department-Fires/2015/Still-Box-10700-S-Halsted-St-4](http://312firephotos.smugmug.com/Chicago-Fire-Department-Fires/2015/Still-Box-10700-S-Halsted-St-4).
